Waste-Based porous materials as water reservoirs for the internal curing of Concrete. A review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This review collates findings from more than 100 scientific publications regarding the performance of several waste-based porous materials (WASPORs) as water reservoirs for internal curing concrete. Results obtained by using recycled concrete aggregates, crushed ceramics, coal bottom ash, artificial different powder and fibres were included. The influence these WASPORs on consistence, hydration, setting, microstructure, density, strength, modulus elasticity, autogenous deformation, drying shrinkage durability properties analysed. General recommendations suitable characterization WASPOR mix design are also given. differences in absorption capacity between studied have been used explaining observed phenomena. A moderate together with a quick desorption found to be among key factors that define efficiency proposed WASPORs.

15 صفحه اولInternal Curing with Crushed Returned Concrete Aggregates
High performance concrete (HPC) requires a low water-to-cementitious materials mass ratio (w/cm), often with the inclusion of supplemental cementitious materials such as silica fume in the mixture, thus necessitating the use of a superplasticizer. Because of the low w/cm and rapid reaction at early ages, proper curing from the earliest time possible is very essential in HPC. Internal curing has...
متن کاملSub-critical water as a green solvent for production of valuable materials from agricultural waste biomass: A review of recent work
Agricultural waste biomass generated from agricultural production and food processing industry are abundant, such as durian peel, mango peel, corn straw, rice bran, corn shell, potato peel and many more. Due to low commercial value, these wastes are disposed in landfill, which if not managed properly may cause environmental problems. Currently, environmental laws and regulations pertaining to ...
متن کاملPumice Aggregates for Internal Water Curing
A novel concept in internal curing of High Performance Concrete is based on dispersing very small, saturated lightweight aggregates (LWA) in the concrete, containing sufficient water to counteract self-desiccation. With this approach, the amount of water in the LWA can be minimized, thus economizing on the amount of the LWA. In this study, the pore structure of different size fractions of pumic...
